2/2/14 - A Howell man has been sentenced after being chased down by police and a real estate agent for breaking into an empty house in Hartland Township. 44-year-old Thomas Isaac was ordered to serve 30 months to 15 years in prison for his earlier guilty plea to 2nd degree home invasion and a reduced habitual offender status in Livingston County Circuit Court. Isaac was discovered at an unoccupied residence on Oak Hill Road on September 19th of last year by a real estate employee who was inspecting the home and found damage to the plumbing, but then witnessed Isaac running out the front door. The employee called 911 before chasing Issac into a swamp area, where police say he was attempting to hide. Isaac was eventually taken into custody by two responding state police troopers. (JM)
