2/2/14 - Registration is open for the 11th annual Run Against Drugs event, hosted by the Livingston County Community Alliance. The 5k race is designed to raise awareness and money for the Allianceâs substance abuse prevention campaigns. Last yearâs race included 98 runners and raised more than $13,000 for anti-drug efforts. The event this year will include a 5k walk/run as well as a kidsâ run. Prizes will be provided to the top runners in each category, and since the race has been endorsed by the Governorâs Council on Physical Fitness, Health, and Sports, adult entrants will be eligible to enter the lottery for the Mackinac Bridge Labor Day Run. The Run Against Drugs will be held on Saturday, May 10th, and in honor of Motherâs Day, and mother/child teams that sign up will get $5 per person taken off the normal $25 registration cost.
