3/24/14 - Coon Lake Road was shut down earlier today following a crash that involved a Livingston Educational Service Agency bus. At about 7:40am, a call came in to the Livingston County Sheriffâs Department about a crash on Coon Lake near Beattie Road. The department reports that a 21-year-old Howell-area man driving a black Chevy S-10 pickup truck eastbound became distracted and drifted into the westbound lane, causing him to sideswipe the driverâs side of an oncoming LESA bus. The driver of the pickup suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the University of Michigan Hospital by Survival Flight. The LESA bus had a driver, an aide, and one student on board, but none of them were injured in the crash. The bus was reported to be undrivable due to damage to the rear axle. It took about an hour for crews to reopen traffic on Coon Lake. (TD)
