5/1/14 - Two local legislators are inviting the community to an educational event about a state program designed around saving for a childâs college education. Republican State Representatives Cindy Denby of Handy Township and Bill Rogers of Genoa Township say itâs never too early to look into saving for college, no matter how young your kids are and the Michigan Education Trust helps parent save for their childrenâs college education by allowing them to purchase college credits at todayâs price. A MET representative will host the hour-long informational presentation, which will be followed by a question and answer session. The presentation will give an overview of the program as well as discuss each of the three plan options available through the program. The presentation is scheduled in the Howell High School auditorium on May 6th at 7pm. No RSVP is necessary for the event and any residents with additional questions are encouraged to contact Representatives Rogers or Denby at their respective offices in Lansing. Details can be found in the attached press release. (JM)
