5/29/14 - Five Livingston County residents will be among the Michigan State Police trooper recruits who will graduate tomorrow. The 126th Trooper Recruit School will graduate 82 new troopers on Friday at the Lansing Center with Governor Snyder serving as the keynote speaker. Five of them are local residents; Lauren Cetnor of Gregory, John Christensen of Brighton, Dennis Hartman of Fowlerville, Joel Perkins of Howell and Brian Poyhonen of Pinckney. Theyâll be assigned to various posts from Oak Park to West Branch. Meanwhile, another four of the graduates are being assigned to the Brighton post. They are Brian Alexander of Trenton, Christopher McIntosh of Westland, Andrew Tisch of Jackson and Daniel Verlin III of Napoleon. Each new trooper will be assigned to a Field Training Officer at their respective posts who will accompany them on all assignments and shifts. At the completion of the probation period, which lasts approximately 17 weeks, the new troopers will be certified to work alone. (JK)
