7/17/14 - Two Pinckney High School students who attended prom decked out in duct tape have taken third place in a national contest and earned some scholarship money. Pinckney valedictorian Ryan Danko and his girlfriend Gabrielle Farina were among the top ten finalists in the Stuck at Prom competition, which gave students from around the country a chance to win up to $10,000 in scholarship money by dressing up for prom in outfits made completely from duct tape. Their creations were a pair of black-and-gold outfits that met the contest requirements while still sticking to the school prom theme of “The Great Gatsby”. While they didn’t win the grand prize, Danko and Farina placed third in the competition, earning them $3,000 each as well as a $2,000 scholarship for their school. (JM)
