2/5/13 - Three Hamburg Township police officers are being credited with helping save a womanâs life this past weekend. Officers were dispatched to a home on Sunday evening in the area of Merrill and Sheldon Roads, where they found a 33-year old female in full cardiac arrest. Hamburg Township Police say officers Megan Paul, Clint Pace and Daniel Bromley arrived on scene within three minutes and found the woman lying on the floor with no pulse and not breathing. They immediately began chest compressions and CPR before applying shocks from an Automated External Defibrillator or AED device, which are carried in all Hamburg patrol vehicles. The woman eventually regained her pulse and began breathing on her own. Patient care was then turned over to medical personnel from Livingston County EMS and the Hamburg Township Fire Department upon their arrival. The woman was transported to the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, where she remains hospitalized. Hamburg police and fire officials say the quick response and care that was delivered by the three officers under some very stressful conditions were instrumental in saving the womanâs life. (JM)
