3/5/13 - A Fowlerville man out on parole has pleaded guilty to obstruction in connection with a police chase in Meridian Township. 24-year-old Dustin Matthew Brewer was charged after fleeing from a store parking lot during a traffic stop in January. The Lansing State Journal reports that Brewer was located up in a pine tree nearly two hours after the chase began, which involved five law enforcement agencies and two K-9 tracking teams. He pleaded guilty yesterday and was sentenced to the 62 days he has already served, plus fines. Brewer was wanted on a parole violation out of Livingston County. Records show he has local past convictions of assaulting/obstructing a public officer, breaking and entering and larceny in a building, as well as a drug charge out of Wayne County. He was paroled in December of 2011. (TD)
